Honour list of garden survivors

For the gardeners, I know you’re out there. Here are the plants that can survive a nasty Aussie heat wave: assorted succulents, roses, lemon verbena, rosemary, jasmines, sacred bamboo, blueberry (in part shade), potted olive trees, parsley, oregano, thyme, dietes, sage (part shade), young salvia ‘Waverley’ cuttings (part shade), flowering quince, plantago, and one very tenacious, unwatered nasturtium that pulled through the general nasturtium massacre.
Is there a fiction link to this post? Nup. But if you’re writing about an apocalyptic future heat wave, maybe mention that the dietes are withering.
